Raquel Leviss refused to return to 'Vanderpump Rules' without a big raise after Scandoval

In some ways, having an affair with Tom Sandoval was the worst mistake Raquel Leviss ever made.

She lost almost all of her friends, and in subreddits and online comment threads, Raquel's name quickly became synonymous with “homewrecker.”

Now, Raquel, or Rachel, as she prefers to be called now,'s future in the reality TV career seems to be open.

All because he demanded what was rightfully his!

Raquel Leviss refused to return to 'Vanderpump Rules'

filming for Vanderpump Rules Season 11 began on June 28, 2023 and most of the usual suspects were seen filming scenes in and around West Hollywood.

But not Rachel.

In August, he made the official announcement that he would not be returning to the show.

Raquel explained that money was the driving force behind her decision to leave the program. In her opinion, she in no way received fair compensation for what she contributed to the show last season.

“I haven't seen a dime,” he told Bethenny Frankel on her “ReWives” podcast. “It's not fair.

Before Scandoval, the idea of the ditzy former beauty queen (a second-tier character at best) trying to negotiate a more lucrative contract would have been ridiculous.

But once the drama hit, Raquel became the main attraction of the show and didn't see a dime for the time being.

Raquel admits that she “almost came back” despite not having received a raise

“It's not fair,” Raquel added while talking to Bettheny. And I feel like a little kid saying, “It's not fair.” But it really isn't.”

He continued: “I feel like I've been portrayed as the ultimate villain. The mistakes I have made on camera will live forever. And you mentioned something about the addiction of doing reality TV and the way they always dangle that carrot for you, like, 'Well, you need to tell your side of the story, otherwise it's going to be written for you.' And that's terrifying. So I almost came back, I know it just from that.”

It remains to be seen what will become of Scandoval's story in the next season of Vander Bomb.

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 premieres on January 30, 2024 at 8 pm ET on Bravo. The cast reunited for the premiere in Los Angeles two weeks before.

On the red carpet. The matriarch of the whole thing, Lisa Vanderpump, admitted that she wished Raquel would have reconsidered and come back.

“I think it would have been his turn to return. “I really believe that,” Vanderpump told Page six. “But maybe not the whole season because I think [the cast] “We were all quite reticent.”

'Vanderpump Rules' was almost canceled

It's hard to believe, given all the hype surrounding the show these days, when there was a time, Vander Bomb seemed to be about to disappear.

Many of the OG drama stirrers like Stassi Schroeder and Jax Taylor had been fired following a race-related scandal, and the show's lackluster ninth season inspired no hope for the future.

When the tenth season premiered, even longtime fans suggested it might be time to close this show as one of Lisa Vanderpump's least popular WeHo restaurants.

But when it became known that Sandoval was cheating on Ariana Madix with Raquel, everything changed literally overnight.

Suddenly, two of the show's most boring characters were at the center of television's biggest scandal.

And just as quickly, a series that seemed to be on its last legs made headlines and inspired conversations about spin-offs.

It's all down to Tom and Raquel, which is why many people think Leviss was right to ask for more money.

While several outlets reported that the contract dispute was the official cause of Raquel's absence at the time, others proposed different possibilities.

At the time, the last news was that Raquel was in a mental health care facility in Arizona, having been admitted amid increasing pressure from Scandoval.

So Raquel may have been absent because she is practicing self-care during what must be a very stressful time in her life.

Either way, we hope you reconsider returning to the SOUTH.

We have become addicted to Vander Bomb to be good again, and Raquel is a big part of what makes this work.
