I doubt you can go to any tech-focused show without someone talking about artificial intelligence. At MWC 2024, companies like Qualcomm supported AI in phones, cars, and more, while Samsung had its Galaxy S24 suite of phones present and was right there to show off Galaxy AI features.

Now AI has, arguably, been around in some form or the other for years. Of course, we don't have a true general AI with human-level smarts or cognitive impact. But machine learning algorithms have been brainstorming and streaming recommendations for some time, translating text and figuring out what's in images. Nevertheless, 2023 sees the rise of Generative AI, whereby smart software can create things from instructions and guesswork rather than simply working on pre-existing things.
