Google The Contacts app is getting an update that will streamline its user interface, as well as a new widget that can help you keep important messages from getting lost by keeping them front and center.

Deep Dive By Code assembledebug, the update includes a widget that will show messages from contacts on your phone's home screen. This will make them harder to miss, even when notifications are turned off and the phone is on silent.

Users will still need to allow for such alerts by tapping on the notification icon at the top right of the widget. This will then open a dialog box explaining the feature and requesting permission.
