Dangal actress Suhani Bhatnagar diagnosed with dermatomyositis, reports reveal

For the unversed, Faridabad-based Suhani Bhatnagar was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on February 7. However, her condition worsened, which ultimately led to her demise, reports revealed. In an interaction with ANI, Suhani's father Sumit Bhatnagar mentioned that it all started when she developed rash-type problems on her skin, which was later diagnosed as dermatomyositis. But her lungs began to fail, which ultimately led to her death.

“He got some red spots on his hands about two months ago. We thought it was an allergy and consulted doctors in different hospitals in Faridabad but could not diagnose it. When her condition started deteriorating, we admitted her to AIIMS. But there was no improvement and her lungs were damaged due to the accumulation of excess fluid,” she said.

Suhani Bhatnagar rose to fame with her first sports biopic, Dangal, based on Mahavir Phogat and his daughters, with Aamir Khan as Mahavir, Sakshi Tanwar as his wife, Fatima Sana Shaikh as his daughter Geeta Phogat and Sanya Malhotra as Babita Phogat. Suhani played the younger version of Babita, while Zaira Wasim played the younger Geeta.

Suhani, however, took a break from acting to complete her studies and did not take up any acting projects. Her demise left the entire Dangal team shocked, and Nitesh Tiwari, Aamir Khan Productions and even real-life sisters Geeta and Babita Phogat shared her condolences to the Bhatnagar family.
