According to the declaration of the United Nations, every year March 8 is celebrated as International Women's Day since 1975. Binance, considered the world's largest exchange, decided to appeal to potential female investors, entrepreneurs and developers through a new kind of product – a perfume. Binance has announced the launch of a fragrance called 'Crypto', which has been specially crafted for women and comes packaged in a luxurious gold bottle. The tagline of this perfume is, 'Fragrance meets finance'.

The exchange is launching this crypto perfume as part of a new campaign. Addressing the gender imbalance currently prevalent in the crypto sector, Binance has decided to reward the first 5,000 women who complete a beginners crypto course on Binance Academy with $25 (approximately Rs 2,070) in the form of Tether token vouchers. Will give reward.

This perfume is not for sale but is available for sampling at a pop-up stand in Bahrain. The exchange has set up stalls for these perfumes in some public places to start a discussion on ways to bridge the gender gap in the crypto sector.

A report by The Drum quotes Binance's chief marketing officer as saying, “Bold, distinctive and intentionally disruptive, 'Crypto' is not a scent we're marketing – it's a message to women that the crypto revolution He has an important role in.” Officer Rachel Conlon says.

Binance posted a minute-long video on Twitter, showing how the campaign took shape in public spaces.

Binance posted a teaser about this perfume from its X handle, showing what 'Eau de Binance' looks like. On what looks like a fun footnote, Binance said that the perfume is a 'fantastic fusion' of 'exotic ingredients' including HODL, DYOR, YOLO and LFG – all of which are frequently used acronyms in the crypto sphere.

As for the base scent of Crypto Perfume, a report from TechCrunch states, β€œThe scent opens with refreshing notes of ozone, salt and moss, creating a crisp and invigorating air essence. The heart notes feature a luxurious blend of oud, mandarin and precious woods, while the base notes of amber, woody and musk provide a warm, musky-sweet and earthy aroma that exudes sophistication.

On the business front, Binance is going through several internal changes. The exchange's new CEO, Richard Teng, joined the company in November 2023 after its founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao pleaded guilty in the US to violating money laundering laws. This week, Nigeria's House of Representatives Committee on Financial Crimes reportedly summoned Teng over suspicions of the exchange's possible involvement in money laundering and terror financing.
