According to a new report, the Apple Pencil (3rd generation), or Apple Pencil 3, could be launched by the tech giant as soon as this month. An earlier report highlighted that Apple is preparing to launch several devices in the next two months, among which the new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air with M3 chipset has already been unveiled. Already happened. Now, the Cupertino-based company may be ready to bring the next generation of Apple Pencil with new features like magnetically interchangeable tips and support for Find My app.

This information comes from a tipster who goes by the name Instant Digital on Weibo (via MacRumors). According to the report, Apple will introduce the third generation Apple Pencil in March 2024. This is also corroborated by a previous report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, which said that several new devices could be introduced via press releases between March and April. If true, this launch would eventually replace the second-generation Apple Pencil, which debuted in 2018. The tech giant unveiled a cheaper Pencil last year, but it wasn't an update to the second-generation model.

Not much is known about the design and features of the Apple Pencil 3, although reports suggest that it may have several upgrades. It may get a smaller body and a glossy finish, and several magnetically interchangeable tips that can be used to sketch in different styles. According to a report by 9to5Mac, it may also get support for Find My app which will enable users to locate it in case it is lost or misplaced. However, it is not known whether it will support the precise location feature or not. It is also expected to have USB Type-C port.

Gurman's report states that two new iPad Pro models with OLED displays may also be launched soon. It is believed that Apple Pencil 3 can come as its accessory. Additionally, there are rumors that a new Magic Keyboard may also be introduced with it. The Apple tablets are rumored to be powered by the M3 chipset, a redesigned rear camera module, landscape-oriented front camera, a slimmer body, and more.
