The Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) North American Finals came to a close this weekend with a bang – but the story took a twist no one expected (or wanted). During the regional event, players were targeted by a hack that disrupted the “competitive integrity” of the matches, resulting in the final stage of the tournament being postponed.

Immediately after the incident, there was speculation about the source of the attack, with questions being raised about the EZ anti-cheat software. Epic Games has issued a statement claiming that there is no connection between the remote hack and EAC.
